Your future self is waiting
3 ways to tap into your future self and become her now.
Your future self is waiting for you to tap into her.
And not in a super abstract, overly spiritual way. You have access to every version of yourself in the present moment, you just have to learn how to connect with her.
If you’re here reading this, it’s because you believe in energy. You understand that you are a soul having a human experience. And maybe you know that things can shift in a blink of an eye, because everything is energy and time isn’t linear.
Your future self isn’t some version of you that you slowly grow into over time. Your future self is an energetic potential that exists right now; for you to tap into, connect with, seek guidance from, and embody.
There have been so many times in my life where I’ve felt confused, scared, or lacked confidence in a situation and instead of accepting that as truth, I chose to tap into the version of myself who could handle it differently.
The future version of me who:
🌙 has the capacity to handle challenges with grace
🌙 exudes confidence in everything she does
🌙 listens to her intuition instead of doubt
No matter how much you grow, prepare, and become confident in who you are and what you do, you’ll always reach your edge — because there’s always more growth to be had.
So in those moments of discomfort, I reach for my future self.
I like step-by-step guidance, so I’m going to share with you my favourite ways to tap into your future self that actually work!
1. Mirror Work
This can be uncomfortable at first, but it’s actually one of the most effective things I’ve done to shift my identity and enhance my confidence!
It’s really simple and something I do all of the time. Sometimes more intentionally, and other times quickly in a restaurant bathroom, in the car before reaching my destination, or while staring at my reflection pre-Zoom meeting.
I look at my reflection and repeat affirmations for whatever I’m needing in the moment: confidence, magnetism, a calm nervous system, strength, effective communication, you name it!
There’s just something about looking at yourself directly and affirming what you want to feel that gives you an instant confidence boost and magnetizes your energy.
You’’ll want to trust me on this one… because it works a little too well ;)
2. EFT (tapping)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping, is a subconscious rewiring technique that supports you in releasing negative/intense emotions and limiting beliefs, while helping you reprogram them into something more positive.
You are literally tapping out what you no longer want to hold onto and tapping in what’s actually aligned.
There is so much info out there on EFT and you can very easily find YouTube videos to follow along to. But I personally love to use EFT in conjunction with mirror work!
I’ll sit comfortably in front of a mirror, play some music that lands me in my body, and repeat affirmations while I tap.
This is a tool that not only changes how you feel and what you believe, but completely transforms your life — because manifestation is really just an outward reflection of your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions (which I talk about more here).
3. Ask your future self…
I feel like most people don’t know this, but you can literally just ask your future self how they would handle things. If you’re in a certain situation, need to make a decision, or unsure of how to proceed… take a moment to ask your future self how they would respond.
It can be as simple as taking a few deep breaths, closing your eyes, and visualizing the version of you who’s already been through this.
The most important thing is trusting what comes up. It may not be the most logical answer or solution, but that’s because God doesn’t work logically.
Another way to get answers from your future self is through journaling. Don’t think — just let yourself write. It may feel like you’re in control of the pen at first, but then all of a sudden you’re writing faster than your mind can come up with words. That’s your future self communicating with you.
I feel like so many people overcomplicate growth, self-development, spiritual connection, and manifestation.
Yes, there’s a lot of wisdom out there, a lot of different methods and tools… but at the end of the day, the most profound shifts come from really simple practices.
I feel God’s presence the most when I’m moving my body, listening to music, or sitting outside.
I feel it when I look at something beautiful, when someone makes me laugh, or when I have a moment of silence and solitude that doesn’t feel lonely, but peaceful.
I believe that we are at a time of unrealized potential. We all have things that we want, that we know are meant for us… and right now we are being supported in taking aligned action towards them.
We are being rewarded for making brave and bold choices, for stepping out of our comfort zones, and taking leaps towards things that have been long on our hearts.
And these moments are when you need your future self the most. A guiding light to get you through the discomfort and the challenges. To provide you with the confidence and certainty that usually only comes with experience.
You don’t have to wait, you can tap into them now — and it can be as easy as looking in the mirror and saying:
“I am the version of myself that already has everything I want”
“I radiate confidence and I am an energetic match for everything I desire”
“I am capable of (blank), and I do it with grace”
You have all the power within you — it’s just about getting comfortable with accessing it!

i loved reading this, Talia. thank you so much for sharing so much aligned wisdom.
this was my favourite reminder from this post "Your future self isn’t some version of you that you slowly grow into over time. Your future self is an energetic potential that exists right now; for you to tap into, connect with, seek guidance from, and embody.
There have been so many times in my life where I’ve felt confused, scared, or lacked confidence in a situation and instead of accepting that as truth, I chose to tap into the version of myself who could handle it differently."
this is the energy i will continue to carry with me through my days.
thank you again.
sending love.
I really enjoyed this read, Talia. My experience has been similar to yours, in that it can be simple to get in touch with something bigger than us. I love the practices you mention – music, nature, journaling. I get many insights through these, too.
Someone recommended EFT to me recently. I haven't checked it out yet, but your article reminded me that I've been meaning to.
For me, it's also involved a lot of therapy to integrate the parts of me that keep me blocked. It's still very much a work in progress, but I've started tasting the fruits of my labor – joy, gratitude, bliss – and it's lovely.
